Despite being nearly unchanged over the past eight years, we decided that for the 24/25 season, it was officially time to give our highly-decorated and best-selling Nomad + Maiden Freeride lines a serious facelift. ABOUT THE NOMAD 106
Replacing our best selling ski of all time, the Nomad 105, wasn’t going to be easy, so it was really important to us that we do this right. Our solution? Simple. Make the BEST ski we’ve ever made. We think we’ve done just that. “The Nomad 105 needs to have more pop?” Check! We doubled the camber height and added carbon stringers tip to tail to exaggerate the much desired energy underfoot. “The Nomad 105 needs a lighter swingweight.” Copy that! Our new FLY-cap construction does exactly that without needing to reduce surface area. “The Nomad 105 needs to actually be 105mm wide.” Touché, but we raise you 1mm to a 106. We’ve packaged the familiarity of the Nomad you know and love with a lively, playful, and even more FUN ski you always knew it could be. The Nomad 106 combines the rare qualities of playfulness and dampness into a ski that delivers the freeride performance that wants to jib, drive or carve through all conditions.

"This year’s Freeride collection is inspired by the American West – the landscapes, animals and people are subjects that we chose to portray this iconic part of the American story. As the artist and Art Director, I chose to carve out different forms of expression for each model. For example, the Nomad 94 features a tattoo or leather etching style. The Nomad 100 and Maiden 96 are an homage to the lineage of the western illustrators that came before me. The Nomad 106 and the Maiden 102 were inspired by the timeless poster-style illustrations of the Old West. For the Nomad 112 and the Maiden 108, I chose a western painterly style that showcases the sweeping and cinematic landscape that defined the idea of Western expansion." - Travis Parr, Icelantic Artist & Co-Founder

Where should I mount my skis?

Every Icelantic Ski features a BC-I mark on the left side of the ski next to the serial number. This is our recommended “Boot Center” mounting point for the majority of skiers who want to be the most balanced over their ski.

Our new 24/25 Freeride Collection (Nomads and Maidens) also have a PC-I mark. This is our recommended freeride mounting point “Progressive Center” and should be used by people wanting a more neutral stance. Being closer to the camber height gives the ski more natural pop and balances the swing weight of the ski. This is where you mount your skis if you want a maneuverable, poppy, all mountain jib stick to accompany you as you jump and stomp every feature on the mountain.

Every Ski also features a CC-I mark. This is the “Core Center” mark and should only be used for those looking for a true center mount. This mostly applies to park skiers and otherwise should mainly be used as a reference.

What binding do you recommend?

There are a lot of good bindings out there these days -- you can shop our favorite (and the ones we trust the most) here. We recommend a binding that has a brake width that fits over the width of your ski but no more than 10mm wider.

What type of tune do your skis leave the factory with?

Every Icelantic Ski comes fresh out of the wrapper with a 1 degree edge and 1 degree base bevel. All of our skis come with a universal wax.

Why do my new skis have a different topsheet material than my old Icelantics?

Our new 24/25 Freeride Collection has a new matte topsheet material. This topsheet provides the same durability as our classic Carbonium material with better print quality and a new sleek look. We hope you enjoy!
