John Howland
Freeride, Backcountry
Based in Salt Lake City, John Howland is an emerging action-sports/lifestyle photographer. A lifelong obsession with skiing has guided John’s path in every way. After sustaining a serious injury during a Freeride World Qualifier event, in New Zealand, in 2015, John purchased his first camera as a tool to help the mental recovery process. During his first winter living in Big Sky, Montana, the tool that kept him involved in the sport quickly developed into a passion of its own. Four years later, John has had his first published cover, worked with many of the biggest brands in the industry and serves as a contributor at Powder Magazine. An unwavering obsession with skiing has led John here, chasing unique light, deep powder turns and a purpose filled profession.
